My job bought me the full version of ArtRage a few days back, so now I get layers, blending modes and everything nice! I’m totally geeking out over ArtRage! Wonderful piece of software!

I think there aren’t a lot of animals/creatures in my portfolio, so I’m lookin’ to remedy that.. hence the elephant, crab and all that.. And now a turtle. I do these animal (and reptile) studies to expand my visual vocabulary when it comes to the animal kingdom. We’ll see how this develops and what kind of original creatures come out of it.. hehe..Click for larger version, which I think is nice, ‘cuz you get to see the brushstrokes alot better :)

Was listening toAesop Rock’s Daylight EP while looking through my pictures, and found this chimp.. I think I never posted or showed this.. The Nightlight track off of Daylight seemed appropriate.. hehe… Aesop; if you see this and feel I should take it down, let me know! Hey ya’ll, playin’ around with ArtRage still.. hehe.. here’s another one… 20-30 minutes or thereabouts for the first sketch, and then some time spent in photoshop cleaning up a bit and adjusting colors :) I’m experimenting with finding a good balance between the looseness I get outta ArtRage and the tighter stuff I tend to do in photoshop.. hope something cool will come of this when I find a good workflow.. hehe.. Ya’ll can probably tell I freakin’ love ArtRage already :P

I saw Babylon A.D. a little while ago (I can almost hear the “WTF, a Vin Diesel testosterone driven bullshit orgy??” choire… hahaha)… It so happens I think Vin Diesel in Dangerous Fuckin’ Mercenary roles (like Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick as well) really works.. like Ahhnold Schwarzenegger (it’s a wonder I get that sh** right.. haha) as Conan :P
That aside, it had a really cool vision of our world in the near future! Everything from the rich cities lookin’ like Tokyo on ‘roids to the run don backwater russian places in social upheaval… lotsa very nicely executed enviroments and whatnot :) So.. go see it, if you like that kinda thing! I sure do! Hehe

Yeah, so I’ve been playing around with ArtRage, like I said in the last post, and now I’ve tried out a screenrecording software… here’s a 20 minute speedpaint compressed to 5 minutes or something… And the final image :)

No movie recommendations seeing as how I haven’t seen a film since blogging last.. hah…

Yeah, so I downloaded the liteversion of ArtRage and I’ve been trying it out, and I’ve found I luv that shit! Not all by itself, though, I constantly jump back and forth between ArtRage and Photoshop, but it’s an awesome tool!

Ubisoft has said that there will be a sequel to Assassin’s Creed coming out! I though the first game was really enjoyable, even though it became a bit… one track after a while playing… That being said though, it moved beautifully, I liked the controls, and there was a bunch of very impressive concept art done, and the game looked very very good, in my humble opinion.. hehe..Looking forward to what the guys over at ubisoft come up withn for the sequel!

Did a warmup-y quick’n'dirty sketch after reading about it.. she’s not Altair, but I wanted to imagine up a quick assassin.. hehe..

Hey ya’ll! Sorry I’m such an infrequent poster :P I try though… I’mma attempt to post once a week at least…

To follow up the KidRobot-ish Penance from the last post; here’s a dunny based on a Big Daddy from Bioshock… a Big Dunny I guess..hehe… Maybe I should send these to KidRobot and see if they wanna make some custom toys :D

Hey ya’ll! Mini update here… had a thunderdome (like an art competition… we only try to make it sound cool ;) ) Topic was “super deformed Marvel character”… I chose a character designed for Marvel by Marko Djurdjevic called Penance and kinda went down the KidRobot/Munny/Dunny road with this one :) Had a blast with it! One hour from start to finish.

Movie recommendation for the night (not gonna write a whole lot… going to bed); Benders Game. Hilarious movie, the third in the Futurama movie series. Even more hilarious for the ones of us that used to play AD&D :)

I was playing around with zBrush today… I’m definately not a 3d modeller, and this was my first try with that program, but it was fun to do something different to reach a result… hehe… I threw it into photoshop and painted on it after… zBrush screengrab and photoshop paint :)
